VICTORY FOR TROUBLED YOUTH

    Greetings to all our supporters, family and friends:  we have been on the road, and on the road. The Lord has blessed and protected us over many, many miles this year.  I’m reminded that a dear brother in the Lord, Pastor Herb Noe, (gone to be with the Lord some time back) told us in Bible school (back in the 80’s for me) that Ephesians 3:20-21: Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above  all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

  Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen., would mean much more to us in 25 years than it did then.  He was right. I have seen our Lord Jesus do exactly that.

    Back in August we were at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Reno, NV to present this work.  It was Sunday night the 12^th.  A 17 year old young lady in the audience got convicted by the Spirit of God that (though she’s not married) she didn’t want her children that she will have ending up in a juvenile facility like she saw on the video. After the service I could see she was troubled, so I asked her:  “Are you saved?”  Her answer was: “I don’t know.”  I asked, “Would you like to know?” and she said, “Yes!”  So my wife took her in back room and she got saved that night.  The pastor  (Randy Ralston) told me that she wanted to get baptized the next week. Her name is Angelina. Would you pray for her that she’ll grow in God’s grace? 

    Also continue to pray for Faith Baptist Church in Silver Springs, NV. Pastor Dick Cervi.  The juvenile facility there has NO religion in it (a good thing) but the director doesn’t want any. (a bad thing.) Pastor Cervi and his church desire a work in there, and since there’s no religion in there, it would be a fruitful work.

    Pray  also for Pastor Doug Mondt and Lighthouse Baptist Church in Winnemucca, NV. They’ve had a work in the juvenile facility there since 2002. (First time we were out this way.)  Pray that the door stays open.

    Pray for Pastor Jeff Matney and Calvary Baptist Church in Casper, WY.  There is a juvenile facility there, but the Youth for Christ have it pretty well covered. ( preaching a false gospel).  But the director was willing to meet with Pastor Matney, so pray that the Lord opens the door there. 

   We are in Hastings, NE now.  I’ll be presenting the work and preaching here at Grace Baptist Church, pastor Rob Thornton, this Sunday, Oct 7. We have more meetings going East, and at the end of the month will be in Mt. Prospect (Chicago) IL at King James Bible Baptist Church, Pastor Chris Huff.

  Finally, we have a new addition to our family. William Andrew Stokes was born on September 5, 2007 to our son, David and his wife, Bilinda. He weighed at 9lbs 3oz and we 20 ½ inches long. Pray for them that they will bring him up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.  It is our prayer that the Lord use all of our children and grandchildren for his glory.
